Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday took notice of the news published in a local newspaper regarding rape of a girl on the pretext of helping her from Benazir Income Support Fund. Pakpattan District and Sessions Judge has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding the steps being taken by the local police along with his own comments.
According to details, Allah Yar Machi’s daughter, resident of Chak 25-EB, located in the suburbs of Pakpattan, went to Arifwala with the accused Shaukat Ali to get financial assistance out of Benazir Income Support Fund. But instead of going to the concerned office, Shaukat Ali took her at unknown place, where Shaukat Ali, Waqas and Saddam Hussain sexually harassed her. Arifwala Sadar police registered a case against the alleged culprits.
Meanwhile, LHC Complaint Cell took a serious notice of the news and directed the concerned D&SJ to look into the matter and submit his report within a week.
