The Islamabad senior superintendent of police (SSP) along with two SHOs went to former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf’s house to persuade him to offer arrest. However, the former commando refused to meet them.
A source in police told Pakistan Today that SSP Yaseen Farooq, Shahzad Town and Secretariat SHOs had gone to Musharraf’s residence to urge him to offer arrest, but the latter refused to meet them.
Source added that a close aide of Musharraf tried to persuade the former army chief to hold meeting with police officers, but he rejected their demand straightaway. On this, police officers returned.
Later, the inspector general (IG), the SSP and other senior officials held a meeting to prepare a report to submit in the IHC as Justice Shaukat Siddiqui had ordered the IG to appear before the court on Friday (today) to inform the court about steps taken to arrest Musharraf. Source said that during the meeting they deliberated various options.
“We are highly confused as if we will arrest the former military chief then we have to face some resistance from establishment… if we will not arrest the accused then we have to face court,” the source added.
