Constitution guarantees equality, religious freedom: PM

Prime Minister Justice (r) Mir Hazar Khoso on Thursday said that the Constitution of Pakistan stipulated freedom of religion and guaranteed equality to all citizens, irrespective of their caste, colour or creed.

The prime minister expressed these views while talking to the Federal Minister for the National Harmony, the National Regulations and Services, the National Heritage and Integration and the Religious Affairs Sahibzada Jamal Nazir who called on him at the Prime Minister’s House.

The prime minister told him that the government had to ensure harmony and respect for religious diversity. He directed Nazir to promote social cohesion in the country by promoting interfaith harmony. Nazir apprised the prime minister on the functioning of all the ministries that were working under him.
