Team formed to probe laptop theft at office of CEC’s son

The Sindh Home Ministry has constituted a joint investigation team to find the laptop stolen from the office of Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim’s son.

The team includes representatives of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Special Branch of Crime Investigation Department (CID).

The team will report to the Home Ministry in seven days.

On Sunday, unidentified persons ransacked the offices and reception area of former judge Tufail Ebrahim’s law firm, located at Clifton Block 2. The culprits ransacked the offices of Tufail and his associate, and stole the latter’s laptop, some cash and documents from the premises as well.

Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso had taken serious notice of the reports of the disappearance of a laptop from the office of the CEC’s son in Karachi and has sought a report from the authorities concerned regarding the incident.
