Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers from Gujranwala on Thursday staged a ‘murgha’ protest in front of the party office in Lahore, showing discontent over the issuance of party tickets.

According to details, PML-N workers recorded their unique protest by bending into a posture popularly known as the ‘murgha’ in front of the party office. They were disgruntled over the fact that former MPA Sheikh Mumtaz Hashmi was not given a ticket to contest for PP-96 Gujranwala seat.

PML-N cadres have been increasingly creative with protests over party tickets. Last week, several party workers climbed electricity poles and refused to come down when their favorite leaders were not issued party tickets. The pole in question was then taken down to avoid more climbers endangering their lives.

Furthermore, a PML-N female activist, Sakinna Mengal, tried to immolate herself in Quetta to register her discontent over the issue of the party’s election tickets.
