The Senate Standing Committee on Rules and Regulations was told on Wednesday that Senator Mukhtar Ahmad Dhamara got restored power supply to electricity bill defaulters from Kandkot by pressurising WAPDA officials.
The committee met under its Chairman Col (r) Tahir Mashdi at the Parliament House on Wednesday.
The committee reviewed the privilege motions of Senator Mukhtar Ahmad Dhamra and Senator Saeed Ghani. Privilege motion by the latter was disposed of for not being pressed further.
Sukkur Electricity Supply Company chief executive told the committee that secretary to Senator Mukhtar Ahmad Dhamra asked XEN WAPDA over telephone to restore the power supply to defaulting consumers of Kandkot.
These consumers defaulted on the payment of outstanding bills to the tune of Rs 1,950,000.
Outstanding bills amounting to over Rs 100,000 have yet to be paid by the secretary to the senator, he further said.
The committee directed PESCO to recover all outstanding dues from defaulters and if any laxity was shown in this regard, the concerned officials of WAPDA would be proceeded against under the rules.
Fire the officer of wapda
Not just the Wapda officials but these scum politicians need to be taught a lesson they & their wives wont forget. Hang them.
