Sharif brothers not guilty of tax evasion

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif was cleared of tax evasion in a report submitted by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday.

Another report sent by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) stated that Shahbaz Sharif was also not involved in tax evasion. The report added that Shahbaz paid taxes worth Rs 4.947 million in the last three years.

The report further stated that cases were being heard against Shahbaz in the Rawalpindi Accountability Court and in the Lahore High Court but there has been no record of conviction or of plea bargain.

The FBR also cleared PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan of tax evasion.

Earlier, former interior minister Rehman Malik had called upon the Election Commission to disqualify the Sharif brothers under Articles 62 and 63.

Malik had accused the Sharif brothers of concealing facts about where they managed to obtain Rs30 million, which they used to get their sealed property, at Raiwind, released. That amount was never shown on tax return papers, he said.

  5. Both Sharif brothers will be tried one day in court and truth will come out to Pakistanis.

    Before Nawaz sharif came as minister in the late 80's and 90's they had very little assets. Now they are billionaires including:

    -Hudiaba mills
    -Steel business
    -Construction business, I wonder if some contracts for metro bus and motor way went to this business ?
    -Mayfair Properties in London, why is sharif family hiding billions of ruppees property in London, while they are suppose to be loyal to this country ?
    -Why more than 1200 policemen are serving sharif family in Raiwind, while we see christian homes get burnt in front of police in lahore and common man has no protection.

    You need to tell awam how and where did this billions of ruppees and busineses come from, you did not have this before you were minister. That's ok you don't need to because YAY HAY NAYA PAKISTAN.

  15. This should have been the out come,if they cant find any thing against Zardari how come against them all are corrupt and sailing in same boat .Its time to think & think before you vote .

  18. So much for the credibility of ECP! What could be a more glaring example? Well, sad to say there are plenty (Amin Fahim got a clean chit when everyone knows his involvement in the NICL scam and monies have been recovered from his bank account, AND even after arrest warrants are out for him; Drug Dealer Hanif Abbassi and his involvement in the Ephedrine scam, plus 100's other such candidates)

    Earlier ECP had accepted as "fact" that Nawaz's claim that he "does not own a house and lives at his mother's" (ROTFLMAO).

  21. Infact, Shareef bros are only statesmen who did not come back as per NRO. So they are cleared. Focus on the people who are NRO people.

    • I think we are capable of focusing on ALL the crooks, whether they got NRO or not (actually they got something similar and that is why they are back 😉 )
