The nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif from NA-120 Lahore, were challenged in the Election Tribunal Court.
The petitioner on Monday filed an appeal in the tribunal questioning how Sharif was cleared, alleging that the PML-N chief was involved in money laundering and had transferred his assets abroad in the past.
The petitioner submitted that accepting Sharif’s nomination papers was unconstitutional, and requested the court to reject his candidacy.
However, the tribunal rejected the application of the petitioner for being incomplete and directed him to complete and resubmit it, along with a copy of the Returning Officer’s (RO) decision from NA-120.
Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court demanded complete details of nomination papers of all candidates from across Punjab.
