Press Council of India Chairman Justice (r) Markandey Katju on Sunday said that Urdu belongs to all and the language is not restricted to any particular community alone.
“A misconception has been created that Hindi and Urdu belonged to particular communities, because Urdu belongs to all,” Katju said.
He was speaking at a function organised by the Urdu Journalists Association
here in his felicitation.
Katju also appealed to Andhra Pradesh government to look into the problems faced by small newspapers and Urdu publications.

  1. Mr. Justice, looks like you have been paid by movie industry (Bollywood), and you want to increase the sales of Indian movies. In your country you have more than 20 national languages so why speak for only one?
