At least two people were wounded on Saturday when unknown militants attacked a district election commission office in Nushki, some 142 km west of Quetta.
According to reports, two gunmen riding a motorcycle hurled a hand grenade at the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office and fled the scene. The blast damaged a portion of the office, while a car parked near the office was also damaged in the attack.
The injured were rushed to District Hospital Nushki for treatment.
The Balochistan election commissioner had submitted a report to the ECP, outlining security concerns in the province ahead of elections and had suggested increased security for sensitive polling stations.
This is the second attack on a local election commission office in the insurgency-hit province in the past two days, raising fears of a surge in violence leading up to general elections scheduled for May 11.
On Thursday, unknown attackers had hurled a bomb at an ECP office in Kharan in a similar attack.
