Former federal interior minister Rehman Malik said no politician is entitled to contest the upcoming polls under articles 62 and 63 of the constitution for no one can fit the description of Sadiq and Amin.
In a news conference held at Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) secretariat on Saturday, Malik claimed the May 11 elections would be contested between supporters of pro and anti-Taliban groups, adding that pro-Taliban groups belong to the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ).
“We held the constitution as well as the judiciary in high esteem during our five years of tenure and will respect them in the future also. Not a single political personality was jailed in our time,” Malik added.
Talking about PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, Malik claimed Sharif inked a 10-year agreement with former president Pervez Musharraf and went into exile and returned home in breach of the agreement.
The Election Commission of Pakistan should declare the PML-N chief ineligible because he transgressed the agreement and democratic norms, adding that the ECP was being negligent by not disqualifying him.

  1. Mr Rehman Pl. let the elections be held peacefully as scheduled in the larger national interest and do not confuse election process with pro and anti Taliban. and also let the ECP screening process be continued. There are still hundreds and thousands Sadiq and AMeen in the country for sailing country affairs honestly.

  2. If Rehman Malik is correct then what does it tell us about our politicians? And the direction that our country is headed with these leaders in charge? Pakistan is doomed.

  3. Obviously, a crook will say anything to justify his petty existence as a crook.

"Not a single political personality was jailed in our time,” Malik added."
well done for allowing all crooks and villains to roam free. No wonder country is all messed up. Thank you

In a state where corruption abounds, laws must be very numerous.

  4. Most people have their mind set to the tunes to media's rhetoric. Rehman is one of those who had to fight against odds which he did courageously. He won the battle and the party steered the democracy to last for five years. Well done.

  5. He knows what he is talking about. It takes a chore to know another one.

    Unfortunately he is so wright.

  6. One question for Ahole Malik from the returning officer, pls recite Sura-e-Ikhlas

  7. The clauses 62 63 are stupid and cannot be claimed. Returning officers are asking strange questions like do you shave pubic hair or not.

I think if they were sincere they could invite few persons and verify the conduct of the candidate. This will satisfy the condition.

    • I can assure you with complete confidence that he will be able to answer the above question in the affirmative. He can also vouch for Zardari, after all Malik is a barber by profession.

  8. Allah has sent a message through his last messenger which is addressed to entire mankind. You can ask the candidate as what Quran says about so many things like jealousy, like being spendthrift, like flaunt, miserliness, pride, about parents etc etc. I dont see any RO asking such questions. May be they themselves dont know that. Muslims have deserted Quran altogether.

  9. I never paid attention to this idiot when he was a minister, why would I do it now.Like my father would say, this guy's mouth always has the case of loose motions,he can't hold anything in.

  10. Can Mr Rahman make public his net worth?
What it was in 2008 and now in 2013?actually all the PPP leaders and ministers and includingMr Zardari must release this information. This way people can judge them better before they cast their vote for any given candidate or party.

  11. Addendum.
Net worth should include assets both in Pakistan and foreign countries .
How much tax did they pay in Pakistan and in foreign countries?
