A local driver, Rehmat Wali Azad, broke a world record by cramming 24 passengers in his car here on Saturday.
District Bar Association President Ghulam Hazrat Inqilabi was the chief guest on the occasion. He awarded Azad a cash prize of Rs 5,000 for his achievement.
Addressing the attendees, Inqilabi said Azad had performed excellently by setting 24 passengers in an Alto.
Rehmat’s son Afsar Wali Khan, said last year he had crammed 34 people in a car, also an Alto but his achievement was not acknowledged by the government. He said he was wanted to record his name in the Guinness Book of World Records.
He appealed to the federal and provincial governments as well as the civil society to support him so that he could participate in competitions of on national and international levels.
Nobody bothered to make a picture of the event that’s surprising when every one is carrying cell phone camera in pocket. Where did the show took place, we are unaware, who was supervising that entire event, was there any media reporter present on occasion? His effort is appreciated, but who will believe the report without a single picture.
Great Dr.Sb,
I support Dr.Khalil (Jughuru) for this comment
in this world of electronic and print media no one can say that even a single event where ever it took place could be away from the grasp of the media. whatever the man claim i think it is an event of great importance and so it requires an ample prove to be accepted but there is no single picture of the event. the credibility of the claimant is shaky.i wish it would be true and his name would be chosen for the guinese book of world record.
