Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan said during a visit to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) that fool proof security plan for doctors and paramedical staff on the inside and outside routes of ASH should be made and checking of all visitors should be carried out to curb such incidents that could threaten human lives.
During the visit, Matanat Ali was was also accompanied by KMDC Principal Prof Waqar Kazmi, Transport and Communication Senior Director Muhammad Ather, Chief Engineer Central Asadullah Shah, Anti Encroachment Director Abdul Malik, Medical Services Director Azfar Mueed, ASH Medical Superintendent Dr Nadeem Ahmed Rajput, North Nazimabad Assistant Commissioner Shaikh Muhammad Rafi, Liaquatabad SP and other officers concerned.
On this occasion, Matanat Ali inspected all inside and outside routes and directed all officers concerned to make a comprehensive security plan for doctors, paramedical staff and the general public, while also directing them to watch out for such situations that could affect the law and order situation.
He said that recommendations for building two big gates on the inside and outside routes of ASH could be entertained. A security check post would be built and CCTV camera system would also be installed in the hospital, while transportation routes would be improved to ensure a better traffic flow, whereas blockages in the routes of ambulances would also be removed, he added.
The Metropolitan commissioner said that almost 3,500 patients visited the hospital’s Trauma Centre on daily basis, therefore necessary measures for ensuring fool proof security would be taken soon.
