The Election Commission of Pakistan Thursday directed a reshuffle of chief secretaries of Punjab and Sindh.
The commission has also directed the candidates to open their bank accounts for the electoral expenditures by April 4.
According to details, the ECP has directed the government to change the chief secretaries in Punjab and Sindh provinces. The commission directed to appoint sitting Punjab CS Nasir Khoso as the Sindh CS. Whereas the sitting Sindh CS Raja Abbas has been directed to report to the federal government. The ECP has also issued directives demanding the government to appoint Education Secretary Punjab Qamar Zaman Chaudhry as the Punjab CS.
The commission directed the government to ensure implementation within three days and also present a report in this regard.
Meanwhile, the ECP asked the candidates to open their accounts by April 4 bounding them to conduct all their coming electoral expenditures from the particular account.
The ECP has bound the contesting candidates for submitting a weekly report of their electoral expenditures to the district returning officers of their constituencies.
ECP Director General Sher Afgan said that date for filing of nomination papers has been extended and now the papers could be filed up to March 31.
He said that scrutiny of nomination papers would be made from 1st to 7th of April and objections could be filed up to April 10.
The DG said that appeals against rejection of nomination papers could be filed from 8th to 10th April, adding that the final list of candidates would be issued on April 19.
