The England women’s cricket team will play Pakistan in a one-day international match in Louth.

The sides will face each other on Monday, July 1 at Louth Cricket Club as part of SO Festival 2013.

It is the first time an international match has been played in the county.

Information on how to buy tickets has yet to be released by East Lindsey District Council.

Councillor Adam Grist, portfolio holder for culture, leisure and tourism at the authority, said: “The district council has worked closely with the ECB and England Women’s Cricket Team for a number of years, and we’re delighted to secure Lincolnshire’s first ever senior international cricket fixture.

“The game will be played at London Road Cricket Ground in Louth.

“This is fantastic news for East Lindsey and puts this area firmly on the sporting map.”

The match is part of East Lindsey Live, a calendar of sporting, heritage and cultural events to showcase the district and attract visitors.

It coincides with SO Festival 2013, which will transform the district into an international arts venue with spectacular visual art, street theatre, performers and dance acts.
