Three hundred and sixty three polling stations of Rawalpindi have been placed in category A and declared extremely sensitive. According to a report sent to Punjab Home Department, there are 4,297 polling stations in Rawalpindi Division districts Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock and Chakwal.
In view of security concerns, the polling stations have been divided into three different categories and as many as 363 have been placed in category A, 717 polling station in B category and 3217 in C category. Meanwhile, the police has chalked out a comprehensive security plan for ensuring safe elections.
