The International Islamic University held on Tuesday an International Cultural Exhibition for students belonging to different parts of the world, including Saudi Arabia, Africa, Iran, United Arab Emirates, China and Afghanistan and South East Asia who are studying at International Islamic University.
The theme of the 25th cultural week was “Youth for National Leadership”.
It is worth mentioning here that the university was also celebrating its silver jubilee this year. The cultural week activities were formally inaugurated by IIU Chancellor Prof Dr Suliman Aba Al-Khalil during an inauguration ceremony which was presided over by IIU Rector Prof Dr Masoom Yasinzai. The event was also attended by the ambassadors and delegates of various countries.
Students belonging to different countries presented their culture and traditions. Chinese students presented their traditional food which was highly appreciated by the visitors.
“It is a great opportunity for us to introduce our culture,” a Chinese student who is studying Urdu at IIU told Pakistan Today. Iranian students presented different art works and handicrafts.
“Our core mission is to introduce different cultures to spread peace and prosperity. Youth and students are our asset and we want to introduce them to different cultures. Cultural activities have a major role in the educational process,” a teacher at IIU said.
