MQM Central Punjab Senior Vice President Qazi Muteen Ahmad Advocate has said the MQM will continue its peaceful protest against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision to carry out delimitation of Karachi constituencies.
Talking to APP here on Sunday, he said new delimitation was aimed at inflicting political damage to the MQM.
He said new delimitation only in Karachi was unconstitutional and amounted to discrimination against the MQM.
He said if new delimitation of constituencies was needed then it should have been undertaken all over the country, adding that the ECP’s decision of carrying out delimitation in Karachi would create doubts and apprehensions over the impartiality of the ECP.
He said MQM’s Deputy Convenenor Farooq Sattar would challenge delimitation of Karachi constituencies in the Supreme Court on Monday.
