Justice (r) Zahid Alvi likely to be caretaker CM of Sindh

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and the former leader of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly Syed Sardar Ahmed on Wednesday recommended Justice (r) Zahid Qurban Alvi’s name for the post of caretaker chief minister of the province.

Addressing a joint press conference at the Sindh Chief Minister’s House, Shah said Justice (r) Alvi was a neutral personality and he was recommended after considering point of views of all sides.

The Sindh CM said this was the first time in the history of the country that a smooth transition of power was taking place.

Ahmed said holding of peaceful, free, fair and transparent elections was very important which, he said, would be the duty of the caretaker government.

Earlier, the chief minister and Ahmed signed the advice for the appointment of Justice (r) Alvi’s as caretaker chief minister of Sindh that will be sent to the Sindh governor.
