It is a sorry state of affairs that more than 63000 children, ranging from five to nine years are deprived from the facility of basic education, a survey revealed on Tuesday.

On the special directions of Punjab government, members of 2000 primary, elementary and higher school started a survey in district Rawalpindi which was completed after two months. The report of the survey had been dispatched to the Punjab government.

Upon receiving the report, Punjab Government gave special directions to teachers that these 63000 children must be admitted to schools in the new session otherwise strict action would be taken against those who would not pay heed on this grave issue.
