After Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif announced regularisation of all contract employees in the province, daily wagers and contract employees of the City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) have decided to contact the chief minister and move the court for their immediate regularisation. According to sources, around 650 daily wagers had been working in different departments of the district government for the last 15 years. Similarly, scores of contract employees had been working in TMA Rawal Town, TMA Pothohar Town and other departments. The daily wagers and contract employees had not been regularised despite the announcement by the chief minister. Daily wagers and contract employees of the district government, talking to INP in this connection, said that they had formed an action committee to get a regularisation order. They added that they would meet the chief minister in Lahore in a couple of days and would put forward their demands to him. They said that if they were not regularised soon, they would be left with no option than to move the court in this regard.
