National Accountability Bureau (NAB) under its ‘Prevention of Corruption Initiatives’ took notice of complaints regarding violations of several conditions relating to Request for Proposals (RFP) by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) while awarding a contract to Bahria Town for development of the Diamond Bar Island City (Bundal & Buddo Island) and ordered the port authority to not sign an agreement as yet. According to NAB spokesperson, the bureau advised PQA chairman not to sign any concession agreement in violation of RFP and government rules and regulations. NAB made mandatory, the vetting of the contract by a panel of experts and directed the PQA chairman to give a detailed presentation to NAB (Sindh) on compliance of all terms and conditions of the agreement by Bahria Town.
