Meeting of EC, NADRA convened to scrutinise electoral rolls

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim has convened meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and NADRA on March 21 in connection with scrutiny of electoral lists of Karachi.
Media reports said the scrutiny of electoral lists regarding Karachi would be carried out in the meeting. The printing of the lists will be started soon after the completion of scrutiny process.
The CEC will preside over the meeting and NADRA officials would brief him.
NADRA Chairman Tariq Malik said voter lists would be printed through NADRA citizens’ data and they would carry voters’ photographs and fingerprints. DATA entry process in respect of Karachi would be completed within two or three days and handed over to EC.
He also said as many as 37.10 million unverified voters have been deleted from the voter lists following the decision by the ECP and the Supreme Court (SC). He pointed out that 15,000 cards were being prepared daily and their entry was being recorded in voter lists after they were verified by election commission.

EC sources said it would print 200 million ballot papers and printing work on this count has been almost completed. The distribution process of these forms is likely to be completed by March 18.
