The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday sought reply from secretary establishment on a plea against appointment of federal board of revenue (FBR) chairman, till the second week of April. A single member bench comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui resumed hearing the plea of Mohammad Ashfaq Ahmed, member inland revenue service (IRS) of the FBR. During the course of hearing, Salman Akram Raja, counsel for FBR Chairman Ali Arshad Hakeem appeared before the bench and sought time for filing reply.
The court accepted his request and adjourned the matter. APP
In an earlier hearing, the petitioner had apprised the bench that FBR chairman lacked the required qualifications and proper procedures were not followed in his appointment.
