Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Thursday announced that that his party would soon announce the name of its nominee for the slot of caretaker prime minister by Friday.

Speaking at a press conference held at the party secretariat in Islamabad, Khan said his party would not award tickets to politicians who fail to declare their assets, adding that the PTI did not wish to have a bank defaulter contesting the coming election on its ticket.

Moreover, he said the process of reviewing applications of all new members had been completed, adding that PTI’s intra-party elections would conclude by March 15.
The PTI chief said the Election Commission of Pakistan must be pressured into holding a transparent election.
He alleged that those involved in corruption had joined the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N).
Khan claimed the membership of the country’s two largest political parties, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the PML-N, consisted of tax defaulters. He added that five billion rupees of taxes were being lost on a daily basis.

Claiming that both PPP and PML-N had failed to pass any anti-corruption laws in the last five years, Khan said his party would approach the Supreme Court if no such legislation was done.
In response to a question, he said PTI’s popularity had dropped due to lack of an organisational setup. However, Khan claimed the situation would clarify during his party’s rally on March 23
