Punjab’s largest dialysis centre has been set up at Lahore General Hospital (LGH).
“The number of dialysis machines has reached 26. Dr Sarfaraz Islam, a philanthropist, has shared major financial chunk by donating Rs.1.5 crore for the establishment of the centre,” sources said.
The inauguration ceremony of up graded dialysis center, held here Wednesday, was attended by Dr Sarfaraz Islam and her family members, Prof Anjum Habib Vohra, Dr Muhammad Hassan, Dr Ahmed Salman Waris, Dr Khalid Hussain and others.
No country should have to afford dialyzing all its citizens anymore. Dialysis, in fact, is obsolete as a medical treatment. It has been possible to prevent 90% of kidney failure since 2002. The two leading causes of kidney failure, diabetes and high blood pressure, can be stopped if treatment is begun early enough. “Early” means before a patient has lost more than half of their kidney function. The only way to tell is with a serum creatinine test (a blood test). Contact GenoMed at genomed.com or no dialysis.com and let us help you stay off the kidney machine. Do it soon. Once you need dialysis, it’s too late.
