Mudslide kills three coalminers in Chamalang, Balochistan

At least three coalminers were reported killed in a mud-sliding accident in Chamalang area of Balochistan.

The lethal incident took place near a private coalmine in Chamalang area of District Loralai on Tuesday night, where three coalminers lost their lives.

Owing to the absence of communication system, the rescue efforts were delayed and helpless coalminers identified as Muhammad Ibrahim, Abdul Rahim and Abdul Halim, lost their lives.

Later on, the rescue teams recovered bodies of the deceased coalminers with the help of local coalmine workers of Chamlang.

According to the official tally, over 300 hundred coalminers have been killed and many more injured since 2005 in similar mishaps in Balochistan.
