Third SAARC Simulation Exercise starts at KU today

KARACHI – The Department of International Relations of the University of Karachi (KU) has organised the third SAARC Simulation Exercise, in collaboration with the Hanns Seidel Foundation Islamabad, from today (Monday) till March 3.
A KU official said on Sunday that 56 students from various universities of Pakistan would participate in the simulation exercise whose inaugural session is to be held today with KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui as the chief guest.
The main objective of the exercise is to determine how the students analyse various issues, both real and virtual, faced by SAARC member countries and to devise strategies for making SAARC a vibrant regional organisation.
BIOMEDICAL SYMPOSIUM: KU’s Department of Biochemistry has also organised a symposium-cum-workshop on ‘Tools in Biomedical Research’ from March 1 to 3.
A KU official said that the three-day event is a part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the Biochemistry Department.
The alumni of the department would gather from national and international institutes within Pakistan and abroad to join in the celebrations. A series of programmes would also take place throughout the year, which would include workshops, seminars, symposia and plenary lectures.
The three-day workshop sessions would cover the topic of advanced research tools, and young scientists would get firsthand experience of utilising them in their researches.
