LIAQAT BALOCHActing High Commissioner of Britain, Susan Hyland, and British deputy political counselor, Jasper Thomson, met the Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch at his residence on Monday and discussed the political situation in Pakistan, Afghanistan and the JI’s policy in the prevailing situation besides the next elections.

The working of the Al-Khidmat Foundation also came under discussion.

JI Deputy Secretary General Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, Punjab chief, Dr Waseem Akhtar and Ehsanullah Waqqas were also present.

While addressing a workers meeting in the city, Liaqat Baloch said that the bomb blasts in Quetta and Karachi were the work of the anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan forces which were hostile to the Pak-Iran gas pipe line project and the handing over of Gwadar to China. He said there was solid evidence of the involvement of colonial powers in the terrorist and subversive activities.

Liaqat Baloch said that the Pakistan People’s Party and its allies had driven the country towards total destruction during the last five years. He said the JI would give surprise to the nation in the next election.
