A day after four members of a family were slaughtered in the Muslim Chowk area of Green Town, police investigators suspect that the brother of one of the victims was involved.
According to details, unidentified murderers had slit the throats of four from a family on Saturday night.
The deceased included a private company driver Fayyaz, his wife Aasma, four-month-old daughter, Kashaf and sister-in-law Farhat.
Police suspect that Fayyaz’s older brother, Riaz, was involved in the murder.
The police said that Riaz, confessing to his crimes, told the investigators that he had served intoxicated juice to the victims and had then slit their throats. He said he wanted to confiscate the family property so that he could remarry.
Sources said that the accused owns a homeopathic clinic in Singhpura and has an affair with a woman, because of which he often fought with his wife.
The locals said that the family had moved in a few months ago and that the accused was “not a good man” since he would always fight with his wife, because of which she was not living with him.
Crime Investigation Department SP Umer Virk said that the investigation was still underway while the dead bodies had been handed over to the family.
