Shalimar police claimed on Saturday to have arrested a foreign national and the recovery of 80 bottles of wine from his car which had a fake registration number plate.
A police spokesman said one of the police team headed by SHO Ghulam Muhammad Baqir, including ASI Muhammad Shabbir, stopped a car near a police checkpost in sector F-11/4 for having tinted glasses and asked the occupant of the vehicle to allow routine search.
During checking, police recovered 80 bottles of wine from it and arrested the accused Muhammad Ayubi, son of Waleed Ayubi. During initial investigation, it was revealed that FIRs had been registered against this person at Kohsar, Ramana and Shalimar police stations and notices had been issued for his arrest.
Police registered a case under the relevant section, and further investigations were underway.
