The British Council has announced that O-Level Examinations will not be held in Quetta given the tumultuous law and order situation of the city, Pakistan Today has learnt.

According to sources, the British Council has informed schools in Balochistan that O-Level Examinations will not be held in Quetta and students will have to take their examinations in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

The school administrations have said to the students that they would need to make arrangements to be sent to other cities for their examinations. Around 250 students have been affected by this decision while parents are resented upon this bothersome situation.

They said that the security situation of Quetta was no different than Karachi and that not letting examinations happen in Quetta was unfair and would cause them inconvenience.

They called upon the British Council to review their decision.
