A senior naval officer was critically injured when unidentified men opened fire on his car at Gate 15 of Karachi port, police said on Wednesday.
Police said Lieutenant Commander Azeem Hussain was immediately shifted to Pakistan Navy’s PNS Shifa Hospital after the attack.
Doctors said Hussain had received four bullets, terming his condition as critical. He has been shifted to a ventilator, they added.
Sources said Hussain was an investigation officer in the Mehran Base attack case. Police and security agencies have started investigations over the attack.
