CM Sindh presides over law, order meeting

Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah here on Tuesday presided over a high level meeting to review law and order situation in the province.
The meeting was attended by Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas, Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Siddique Memon, Sindh IGP Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari, Karachi AIG Polices Iqbal Mehmood, AIGs of Police for CID, Special and other branches, and by DIGs of Police of Karachi Division.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM directed the police department to make all out efforts to combat the unpredictable situation prevalent in the province and that strict security measure should be adopted to eradicate the menace of lawlessness, to crush the activities of criminals, terrorists, anti-social elements and those who were involved in killings of innocent people.
He added that it was the responsibility of law enforcement agencies to strictly maintain peace in the province and to protect the lives and properties of people with utmost dedication.
The CM while taking serious notice of bomb attack on Pir Ghulam Hussain near Jacobabad and the shrine of Hajan Shah at Shikarpur, directed the police officers to be vigilant and careful regarding subversive activities of criminals and terrorists.
He directed them to maintain extensive patrolling in Karachi and other main cities, commercial and trade centres, various highways etc to maintain peace in the province.
Qaim directed the officials concerned that the activities of the anti-state elements should be curbed with an iron hand.
Later, the Sindh IGP and other officers concerned briefed the CM on the prevailing law and order situation and assured that concerted efforts were under-way to maintain permanent peace in the province.
