The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Wednesday forecast widespread rain/thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills in Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 24 hours.
Rain is likely in the upper parts of KP and Punjab including Islamabad with isolated heavy falls in Rawalpindi and Gujranwala divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during next 24 hours.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting Upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 hours.
In Sindh and Balochistan, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts during next 24 hours.
The lowest minimum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Parachinar -6 C, Drosh and Malamjabba -4C , Kalat -3C, Quetta -2C, Gupis, Kalam and Astore -1C.
The chief amount of rainfall in last 24 hours was Parachinar 66 mm, Bannu 50, Sibbi 47, Dir 46, Okara 38, Mianwali 34, Sahiwal 32, Kohat 28, DI Khan 27, Bhakkar 26, Joharabad 24, Saidu Sharif 23, Rawalpindi 21, Lower Dir, Pattan 20, Cherat and Chakwal 19, Mangla, MB Din 18, Islamabad and Rawlakot 17, Peshawar 16, Jhelum, Noorpur Thal and Risalpur 15, Sialkot 14, Faisalabad, Kotli and Muzaffarabad 13, Murree 12, Sargodha 11, Zhob, DG Khan 10, Balakot 9, Kakul 8, Quetta, Gujranwala 7, Kalat 6, Barkhan, Bahawalnagar and Jhang 5 mm.
The snowfall recorded was Drosh 2 feet, Kalam, Chitral and Malamjabba 1 feet.
