MFN status to India delayed

The government has postponed the grant of the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to India for the time being and the decision has been left for the next government.

According to a private television channel, the process of granting MFN status to India was underway and a clause was also included in trade policy in this regard that was suspended in the final phase.

The source added that the decision was withdrawn after the adverse criticism by Pakistani industrialists, investors and traders.

The sources further said that the decision of granting MFN status to India had been left for the next government.
