The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday rejected a review petition filed by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) over delimitation of Karachi constituencies on grounds that MQM attorney could not satisfy the bench with arguments, a private TV channel reported.

An SC bench headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer was hearing the Karachi law and order case at it’s Karachi Registry in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission (EC) is expected to submit an application stating that the fresh delimitation would be technically impossible.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim has opposed delimitation of electoral constituencies in Karachi and today’s application would explain to the court complexities involved in fresh delimitation.

On Nov 26 and 28, The SC had directed EC to draw new boundaries for the Karachi constituencies.
