Two shot dead, arms seized in Balochistan

QUETTA – Two people were shot dead in separate incidents in Kuchlak and Panjgur town on Saturday while the security forces recovered a huge cache of arms from Dukki area, police said.
Unidentified armed motorcyclists opened fire on Jamal-ud-Din in Kuchlak town, in the outskirts of Quetta. As a result, he received critical wounds and succumbed to his injuries. The assailants fled the scene. Police said the motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, another person was killed in Panjgur, a town near located near the Iran border, some 400km west of Quetta.
According to the police, armed men riding a motorbike opened fire on Muhammad Jan in Tasp near his house and escaped from the scene. The victim’s family said that they had no enmity with anyone. On the other hand, the security forces foiled a terror bid and recovered a huge cache of arms in Dukki tehsil of Loralai district.
Police said the security forces on a tip-off raided an abandoned house at Basti Tariq and recovered two SMGs, rifles, pistols and thousands of rounds which were dumped in the house. However, no arrest was made in this connection.
