A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Sunday called on Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran chief Dr Tahirul Qadri at his residence in Lahore.
The MQM delegation, comprising of Senator Nasreen Jalil, MPA Raza Haroon and MQM Rabita Committee member Saif Yar Khan, discussed a possible alliance in Punjab among other issues.
Both the sides agreed to press for the implementation of articles 62 and 63 of the constitution for the coming general elections and cooperate for ensuring rule of law and an end to corruption.
The delegation delivered a message of MQM chief Altaf Hussain and assured their cooperation to Dr Qadri.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Tahirul Qadri said that without electoral reforms, elections would be unconstitutional and would not be acceptable to the people.
He said he would announce the future strategy on 17th or 18th of March which would be in line with the aspirations of the people.
