Karachi violence: SHC CJ seeks report from police, Rangers

The Sindh High Court (SHC) chief justice has sought a report from the law enforcement agencies on their performance in curbing the ongoing incidents of targeted killings and money extortion.
Chief Justice Mushir Alam on Thursday ordered the Sindh IG police and the Sindh Rangers DG to submit details of cases registered since October 6, 2011, to date along with challans and FIR numbers.
Karachi, the home to 180 million people and hub of Pakistan’s economy, has been plagued by the incidents of politically and religiously motivated killings, gang war and dacoities, prompting the Supreme Court to take suo moto notice which is being pursued by the apex court and the Sindh High Court.
