Sherry booked for blasphemy

Multan Police have registered a blasphemy case against Sherry Rehman, Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States.

According to a report by the BBC, the case was registered on a complaint made by Faheem Gill, a citizen of Multan.

In his complaint, Gill has alleged that Rehman had committed blasphemy while participating in a programme aired on a private television channel on November 30, 2010.

The complainant said Rehman was speaking on the country’s blasphemy laws and had made some statements which were tantamount to committing blasphemy.

Multan’s Senior Superintendent of Police Ghulam Shabbir Jafri said the case had been registered and the complainant had also been made part of the investigation. He added that evidence was being collected with regard to the case.

  2. Well, I am speaking against the blasphemy law, so please book me also! This is NOT a divine law, it was put in place by Zia ul Haq, and I do not consider Zia a holy person! We have the right to condemn any man-made law. I am sick of all these idiots running around who don't know what they are talking about!

  3. I am sick of those who can't understand that the law is not the problem. Its implementation. what would your response be to a situation where danish cartoons appear in Pakistan. Without this blasphemy law what will the punishment be?

    • Danish cartoons, we should just stone them publicy in front of as many kids as possible so that they get the message to never draw danish cartoons. Freedom of speech is for kafirs, we should not have that kind of western liberty in pakistan.

  4. Nothing! absolutely no punishment! print an article making fun of the cartoonist – or just shut up and carry on with the twenty other important things in your life. The real world doesn't carry that you are offended – the best way to fight back an affront is to ignore and let it sink into the dark abyss of all the other stupid stuff people say and do everyday.

    • Someones enters your place, ties you up & rapes all the female members of your family right in front of you & goes off. You on the other hand take a shower, put your clothes & simply go to your respective work place. All because you have "bigger" things in life to worry about! Wow, take a break!!!

      • I agree cartoons of the prophet is the same as your daughter getting raped. Get angry take a gun and go shoot kafirs for fun. Its the mature thing to do.
