Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM) General Secretary Allama Amin Shaheedi has reacted in strong terms to Altaf Hussain’s criticism of ‘some Shia elders’ who played a role in ending the Hazara community’s sit-in and persuading them to bury their loved ones who died in Saturday’s deadly blast.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain had criticised the decision to end the Quetta sit-in as the demands of the community were not fulfilled, adding that several bereaved families had been disappointed with the move.
Irked by Altaf’s criticism, Shaheedi asked when had the MQM become the “well wisher” of the Shia community, demanding the party leadership to first play its role in bringing an end to targeted killings of Shias in Karachi.
He said the relatives of Quetta tragedy victims had reposed confidence in the MWM.
