GUJRANWALA – Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmad has expressed concerns over Indian intentions to construct some 250 dams in occupied Kashmir and urged the government of Pakistan and the international bodies to take measures to stop India from doing so.
“There is no room of any non-state political party in Azad Kashmir and if democracy failed yet again in Pakistan then nobody would be blamed but the politicians,” he said this while talking to journalists during his short visit of the suburban area of the city after condoling the sad demise of a Muslim Conference worker.
The state prime minister said that the Muslim Conference had been representing the people of Kashmir for the last 78 years and no government could work over the Kashmir issue stronger than the Muslim Conference. Diversion of the River Chenab’s water and violation of Sindh Water Treaty were the serious issues which could lead the two nuclear states to a war, he said and added that India had been planning to construct 250 dams on Chenab from Hamachul to Tawi.
