The National Assembly Standing Committee on Capital Administration and Development (CAD) on Tuesday unanimously agreed on The Injured Persons (medical Aid) Amendment Bill 2012 and sent it to the Cabinet Division for its final approval.

The meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on Capital Administration and Development was held on Tuesday with Jamshed Dasti in the chair.

The injured Persons (medical Aid) Amendment Bill moved by Ms Nosheen Saeed was thoroughly discussed. The committee after discussion on the definition of negligence unanimously agreed on the bill and decided to send it to the cabinet division.

The committee also recommended Advisor to Minister on CAD Atif Mehmood Kiyani to settle the issue between the administration of private schools and parents on fee dispute and termination of children from school.

The matter of the termination of five students from Froebel’s International School came under discussion and parents of the terminated children informed the committee that upon their complaint about an increase in fees, the schools administration expelled their children from the school. The administration maintained however that the parents had started an advertisement campaign against the school.

Riaz Fatyana said it was a violation of child rights as under the Constitution, basic education was the right of every child and expulsion of any child was a violation of the constitution.

Jamshed dasti said that both sides were rigid because of their ego and it was not good as the case was a matter of the future of children’s education.
The Committee asked both parties to apologize to each other and end the issue. The Legislative body instructed Atif Kiyani to intervene and resolve the matter or the registration of the school in question would be cancelled.
