Election Commission (EC), Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) officials would meet on Wednesday to discuss the issue of banning bankrupts and tax defaulters from taking part in general polls.
According to EC sources, the meeting would discuss matters regarding scrutiny of candidates and acquiring their respective financial records from the state bank. Sources said that EC has also contacted National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for ensuring that no person who has not honored his financial obligations to the state be cleared by the institution.
