The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday ordered concerned authority to ensure foolproof security to former Ambassador to US Hussain Haqqani on his arrival.

An eight-judge bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing memogate case.

The court asked counsel for Haqqani, Asma Jehangir to participate in security arrangements along with Inspector General (IG) and Home Secretary.

Jehangir demanded delay in hearing until the elections were complete owing busy schedules of the home department.

Earlier during the hearing, the chief justice expressed dismay over absence of Secretary Home hearing and ordered him to appear before the court till 11:30 AM but later continued with the hearing without his presence.

The hearing was adjourned till March 11, 2013.

  1. This man, Hussain Haqqani, escaped by filing an affidavit to return on four days notice and now making excuses one after the other for not appearing before the court. I bet even if SC goes to US to record his evidence he will not appear b/f the court. He is too cunning and shameless.
