IGP demotes two DSPs

LAHORE – Punjab Police Inspector General (IGP) Javed Iqbal on Friday punished two DSPs and demoted them to the rank of inspectors on charges of misconduct, corruption and inefficiency.
Faisalabad Iqbal Town Additional SP Inquiry Officer Aftab Ahmad Mahsud held Bhakkar Sadar SDPO Daud Husnain Abbas guilty of charges leveled against him in show-cause notice issued to the accused officer on charges of misconduct, corruption and inefficiency.
Accordingly, a final show-cause notice was issued to the DSP to which he submitted his reply and pleaded his innocence. The DSP appeared in the orderly room of IGP and was heard in person. DSP had nothing plausible to state except lame excuses over which IGP awarded reduction in rank from DSP to inspector for five years.
Similarly IGP has awarded major punishment of reduction in rank from DSP to inspector for five years to DSP/PHP Khanewal Sarfraz Hussain Gillani on charges of embezzlement in donated amount; misconduct and inefficiency.
