Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) chief Pir Pagara on Sunday said there was no need to create new provinces and the government should only issue a notification to restore the provincial status of Bahawalpur. Talking to reporters, he said the government did not pay heed to the issue of new provinces in the last four years. He also called for removal of all provincial governors, adding that all governors were political personalities. The PML-F chief said his party would enter an alliance with like-minded parties for general election. He said he would welcome Nawaz Sharif if he approached him for dialogue. To a question, he said the government was going to hold talks with the Taliban, adding that the initiative should have been taken earlier.
