Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has called for an end to “daku raj” in Sindh and restoration of peace in Karachi.
“The president should try to put the country on the road to progress… he could get Nawaz Sharif’s vote this way,” Nawaz said, adding, “We have been deceived many times, we will not be bamboozled by talks anymore.”
Addressing a public gathering in Kandario district of Sindh, Nawaz said when he was the prime minister he used to spend every other day in Sindh but his government was terminated within two years.
He said around 10 people were killed in Karachi everyday and 300 people had been in the city in January alone.
Nawaz said police and institutions had failed in Sindh to such an extent that the Supreme Court had to give orders to arrest killers in the province.
“The Supreme Court is issuing orders for the arrest of murderers… the accused in Shazaib murder case was arrested from Dubai after the order of the Supreme Court.”
He said the administration and police had failed in Sindh and those who used to support the PPP had lost all hopes.
Nawaz said he had supported President Asif Ali Zardari with good intentions but the president had betrayed him.
Nawaz said he had told Zardari his vote would remain with him if he managed to lead Pakistan towards progress and development, “but unfortunately Zardari failed to do so”.
