The 9th State Bank Governor’s Cup Cricket Tournament will roll into action from February 9-18 at Lahore’s three prominent grounds. Director Finance Nazar Ali Chanara while addressing a press conference said that the players belonging to various banks including SBP BSC will take part in the event while young cricketing talent hired by various bank will also be part of the teams. “The finalists of each region and previous year finalists are also participating in the super series,” he added. He further siad that the theme of the tournament is to promote State Bank’s clean note policy. besides encouraging healthy activities amongst the banking community and to promote cricket. He said that three different grounds with final to be held at the Bagh-e-Jinnah ground on 18th and Yaseen Anwar will be the chief guest of the final.
The tournament is in continuation of the SBP Governor Cup held in five different regions including Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi. first class cricketers who have played after 2008 will not be allowed to play, he added.
The winner will be awarded Rs 100,000 and the runner up will be given Rs 50,000.

Mr. Javaid Iqbal, Chief Manager, SBP BSC, Lahore & Rana Rashed Mehmood, DCM (Admn)/ Chairman Sports Organizing Committee, SBP BSC, Lahore were also present during the press conference.
